All new clients must complete and sign a record on their first booking. This will include the owner and vet contact details and any previous or current concerns about your pet. Personal details are kept only for my own record and never shared with third party organisations. By signing this record, you are agreeing to the terms and conditions listed below.
Photography: I take photos as a personal reference for preferred client styling and to use on my Facebook and business social media pages. If you would prefer that your dog was not featured online, please let me know.
Pet Health
Please ensure your dog is up to date with all veterinary vaccinations before booking. Any skin conditions, lumps and bumps, or any other medical requirements must be raised prior to grooming. For elderly dogs, grooming procedures can be stressful due to their older bodies. Please inform me of any arthritis or associated mobility issues so that I can ensure appropriate support with the groom process is in place.
Sickness and/or Diarrhoea: If your dog has had bouts of sickness or diarrhoea, please make sure there is a clear two weeks before their appointment.
Fleas: If your dog has a flea infestation, I politely ask you to reschedule your appointment until the infestation is under control.
Accidents: There is always the possibility a minor accident could occur during grooming. Possible problems include cuts, nicks, scratches and quickening of the nails. You will always be informed should an accident occur.
Dog Behaviour
Owners MUST inform me if your dog bites, or has been aggressive to people during previous grooming. The dog may have to be muzzled to prevent injury to both me and itself with equipment. I reserve the right to stop or refuse grooming at any point if I believe it is causing too much distress for the dog but will have to charge for any time spent grooming.
Matted or Neglected Coats
Regular brushing at home between grooming maintains a healthy coat and skin. However, there are times when hair can become matted. Small or moderate isolated matting can be painlessly brushed out, however large areas of matting can only be removed by clipping. Removal by hand causes excessive pulling to the skin which is extremely painful and distressing for the dog. Clients are required to sign a consent form for the removal of large matting before I start a groom. In the event of matting removal owners should be aware that skin irritation or redness may occur after the shaving process.
