Classical Canines Terms And Conditions

Effective Date: 24/10/2025

1. General Agreement

By booking an appointment with Classical Canines Dog Grooming, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. These apply to all bookings made online, via phone, text, or in person.

2. Pricing & Payment

Prices vary depending on breed, size, coat condition, and temperament. All quotes for dogs I haven’t previously groomed are given as a guideline only and are based on the information provided at the time of booking. Because every dog is unique, the final price may differ from the original estimate. Quotes will always be listed as “from £X” to allow for extra time and work if required.

Payment must be made in full before I leave the property. Accepted payment methods include card, bank transfer, or cash.

3.  Booking an Appointment

Please provide accurate and complete information about your dog’s health, temperament, and grooming history — including any medical conditions, allergies, behavioural issues, or previous injuries that may affect the grooming process. This information should be submitted in the Client Information form. Every effort is made to ensure your dog’s comfort and safety throughout the groom. However, I cannot be held responsible for any aggravation of pre-existing / underlying conditions that were not disclosed prior to the groom.

4. Vehicle Access & Setup requirements

Clients must provide a safe, legal, and easily accessible parking space for the grooming vehicle, as well as access to an electrical point within 30 metres. If suitable access or parking is unavailable upon arrival, the appointment will need to be cancelled and the full cost of the groom will be payable before rescheduling.

As a mobile service, arrival times may vary due to traffic, weather, or previous appointments. I will notify you of any significant delays.

5. Cancellations & Rescheduling

Appointments are confirmed by phone call or text two days prior to the booking.

Please provide at least 48 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the appointment may incur a 50% fee of the groom cost. Last minute changes or forgotten appointments will require the full groom cost before a new booking is made. I understand emergencies and unexpected circumstances occur, and consideration will always be made at my discretion.

6. Weather Conditions

Your dog’s safety and wellbeing are my top priority. During periods of hot weather, grooming conditions inside the van may become unsafe for both myself and the dogs. Appointments may need to be rescheduled in cases of extreme heat or freezing temperatures, or other weather conditions that prevent safe and effective operation. Every effort will be made to notify you promptly if a reschedule is required.

7. Dog Health and Vaccination Requirements

All dogs must be up to date with vaccinations. Please inform me before your appointment if your dog has recently been unwell, has any infection, open wounds, parasites, or diarrhoea, and reschedule if necessary. I reserve the right to refuse or postpone a groom if I believe your dog’s health could be at risk or could pose a risk to other dogs.

8. Parasite Policy

For the health and safety of all dogs and to maintain hygiene standards, I do not accept dogs that have fleas, ticks, lice, mites, or any other contagious or parasitic conditions. If your dog is found to have parasites during the appointment, the groom will be terminated immediately. A parasite sanitation charge will apply for the time spent and any additional cleaning or fumigation costs. Your pet must be free of existing parasites before another booking is made.

9. Aggressive Or Difficult Dog Behaviour

Safety comes first. Muzzles, restraints, or other safety equipment may be used when necessary for the safety of your dog and myself.

I reserve the right to refuse or stop a groom at any point if a dog’s behaviour is considered unsafe, overly aggressive, or severely stressed. In such cases, a partial groom fee will apply to cover time and costs.

10. Matted Coats & Shaving Policy

Matting occurs when a dog’s coat becomes tangled and knotted, often close to the skin. To help keep your dog’s coat healthy and comfortable, it is important that owners brush their dogs regularly at home and book grooming appointments at suitable intervals. Regular coat care helps prevent matting for many breeds, which can cause discomfort and make the grooming process more difficult for your dog. This can lead to irritation, pain, and skin problems.

Severe matting will require clipping to avoid causing your dog any distress. In line with the Animal Welfare Act 2006, if brushing is likely to cause pain or stress, I am required to shave the coat for the dog’s welfare, this will always be discussed with the owner before proceeding. Removing matting takes additional time and care, and can cause grooming equipment to wear more quickly. For this reason, a matting fee will be added to the full groom cost, depending on the severity of the matting and the time needed. Temporary skin redness or irritation can sometimes occur after clipping - while every effort is made to minimise this, I cannot be held responsible for any such reactions.

11.  Grooming Limitations & Styling Expectations

Every effort will be made to achieve the requested style, but results may vary depending on coat condition, dog behaviour, and health. Adjustments may be necessary for the dog’s safety and comfort and will be made clear to the client before proceeding.

12. Elderly Dogs & Dogs with Health Conditions

Extra care is taken when grooming elderly or medically fragile dogs as grooming can sometimes be stressful or physically taxing. In these cases, the groom may be limited to what is necessary for the dog’s hygiene and comfort. By booking, you acknowledge that grooming senior or ill dogs carries inherent risks, and I cannot be held liable for any pre-existing or stress-related conditions that may arise during or after grooming.

13. Accidents & Injuries

Your dog’s safety and wellbeing are always my highest priority. Although every precaution is taken to ensure a comfortable grooming experience, accidents can occasionally occur due to the nature of grooming live animals with sharp tools. In the event of any accident, you will be informed immediately and, if needed, veterinary care will be recommended.

14. Liability Disclaimer

Grooming procedures can sometimes reveal or aggravate underlying health conditions, skin issues, allergies, or injuries that may not be visible or previously known. While every precaution is taken to prevent accidents or stress, Classical Canines Dog Grooming cannot be held responsible for any irritation, reaction, injury, stress-related episode, or medical complication that may occur during or after the groom, if such issues were not previously disclosed or could not have been reasonably identified beforehand.

Therefore, unless it can be shown that negligence on my part contributed to the situation, any veterinary or medical expenses related to your dog’s health during or shortly after grooming are the responsibility of the owner.

15. Photos And Social Media

With your permission, I may take before-and-after photos of your dog to showcase my work on social media. Photos will not contain location, names of the dog or owner and never be used elsewhere without your consent. You may withdraw permission at any time by informing me, and any related photos will be removed promptly.

16.  Privacy Policy

All client and pet information is treated as strictly confidential and used only for business purposes. Data is stored securely and will not be sold or shared with third parties except where required by law.

17. Amendments

I reserve the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. The most recent version will always be available, and clients will be notified of any significant updates.

18.  Agreement

By booking a grooming appointment, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions. Please ensure you review them prior to your appointment.
